Snowy picture on my vizio tv

I have lost two answers I have given. Sorry.
Check the input on the remote, it has to be in the correct place. When it is right. Go to set up on the remote, find picture and adjust the colour on the screen. Hope this works for you it has for me. If not restart the router and exchange box if you use that and check input again and the set up.
lastly try other channels, it can be the broadcast is not working correctly.

Snowy picture

The remote doesn't effect the channels, I would say you have poor signal or interference from another device nearby.

Sony KDL-V32XBR1 Displays only snowy picture

Here are a few more troubleshooting steps you can try when your TV picture is just snow. I see that you have already rebooted your TV, but did you turn your set-top box off and on, too?

1. Does the picture show when you play a DVD?
2. Check all of the connections between the TV, outlet and set-top box and make sure everything is secured.
3. Is your TV set to the correct channel (typically 3, but in some areas 2 or 4)?
4. Press any key on the remote to see if the correct mode lights up. (Ex: if you have cable, the cable button should light up). If it doesn't, press the correct mode's button to regain control and change channels.
5. Call your service provider and make sure it's not an overall service outage.
6. Do you have sound but no picture? If so, it could mean a backlight failure.

For more suggestions, see TV black screen or snowy screen for troubleshooting and solutions. I hope this helps!

Snowy line on top and bottom of screen.

Dear Friend,
  1. If the picture you can see is clear and the are bars of snow at top and bottom of the picture, there is a problem of LCD panel of your TV. There is some thing called TCON board which control LCD Panel, may be damaged.
  2. If software of the LCD tv is corrupt, you can update it by contacting service people.

Hello. the particular setup we are dealing with is

Hi Guest, I can definitely help you with that, however if the screen is snowy we won't know if it's working until we get a picture.

To do that try changing TV2 to channel 60 and 73. If it only goes up to 69 put it on 60, if it goes to 73 then good. If still snowy, then go down to the main television and follow these steps. Menu -> System Setup(6) -> Installation(1) -> Modulator Setup(5). Go to TV 2 Out and change mode to Air if you put the TV2 on 60 and Cable if it's on 73 and select Done to save.Check the second TV for picture, and if it's still not showing then check cabling.

Once you have a picture back the remote should be working with it, if not feel free to post here!

Tv has only snowy screen. Used the remote to

What to do if you have an all snowy picture (blue screen or the TV displays unusable signal-no signal or no sync)
1 – If you are using a digital cable box or satellite receiver (make sure it’s on) and be sure your TV is set for either CH3 or CH4 (which ever you usually view it on). If you usually view it through video inputs (video1 or 2 etc.) make sure the appropriate input is selected.
If you still don’t get a signal see if you get picture using the DVD or VCR (if available) if you do than plug the satellite or Dig. Box temporarily into the place of the DVD (unplug DVD) you may have to use some A/V cables (RCA yel./red/wht like the ones on the DVD) to hook to the tv from the sat./dig. box. If you get a signal then the sat./dig box is ok. If not the Sat./dig box is not sending a signal and is either defective or needs to be rebooted (unplug wait 5 min try again).
2 – If you are using standard cable or antenna (source) if possible check that the source is good by connecting to another TV. Otherwise try running the source into a VCR and then out to the TV using video inputs (RCA yel./red/wht like the ones on the DVD) and then selecting the appropriate input. Try seeing if the VCR plays using standard CH3 (or CH4)
If the VCR plays on video input but not when connected to CH3 (CH4) then the tuner of the TV may be defective – see if you can use the VCR to change channel using the VCR remote.

Coloured lines on screen

Make sure first that the picture is centered by using the remote control to move the picture vertically and horizontally. Use the round pad towards the center of the remote and push the button according to which direction you want the frame to move.

Unable to retrieve picture on TV

when the screen becomes snowy, it means that something in the cable box is being overheated. what you should do is take a small desk fan and hold it beside the cable box. this has happened many times when my family has played on their xbox 360, and the desk fan solved this problem. i hope that this helps!

Screen split with black bar through center, top of picture shows in bottom

It sounds as you desribe, the vertical output IC and or the b+ feed capacitor off the Hi voltage transformer feeding the vert. IC its required voltage. Not a really hard job to replace, but not for a handi person to do. This should be left to the professional, as there are no user serviceable parts inside this set and with the HI voltage and the safety issues its best to call somesone to assist you with this repair. Good Luck
