Question about Bunn GR10 Coffee Maker
In the last few months, after adding water and closing the lid to the reservoir (which starts the brewing), the grounds make a mess inside the basket. The grounds splash outside of the filter and cake on the inside of the basket, and a lot get into the coffee carafe. Any suggestions?
In the paperwork that came with the Bunn, it said that Soft Water can be slow to move through the grounds and the filter. There was another scenario, but I don't remember it right away. If you can get a copy of the instruction manual they give a couple of suggestions and offer to provide (free of charge) a spray head that should help the situation.

Have you checked to see if the sprayhead is missing? One that we had at work did the same thing when the sprayhead fell off. Being that it was brown and blends in with the coffee grounds, it was thrown away with the old grounds. Replacing the sprayhead fixed the problem.

My brother has a Bunn that does the same. I think the coffee filters he is using are too short. If you think this might be the problem too, try an internet search for Bunn coffee filters. Hope this helps!
