Wow I cannot believe the estimates for the screens of this model and other Mitsubishi TV. I bought one about a year ago. It cost me $55.00. A far cry from the cost of the TV or anything else.
By the way. I got this direct from Mitsubishi. Got it in 5 days and the shipping was $16.00.
Thought you might be more inclined to do this with the actual price.
I am looking for the instruction but I was told that you loosen the front screw lift up and take out the screen being careful not to mark the other screens, (I guess there are three at least). SO the biggest issue I can see is the fingerprints or marring of the other screens.
Hope this helps but at least it should make you feel better about fixing and replacing the screen.

It would almost be cheaper to buy a new tv the screen for a 55 inch would run about 400.00 possibly more. i know because i tried to buy one a couple years ago and ended up getting rid of the tv.

TV won't turn on with remote or power button

if it is completely dead, then it could be a micro lock up.

take of speaker grille
open front panel with screwdriver
find DZ connector that goes to the buttons
unhook that connection and plug the tv back in
wait 2 minutes

the tv may now work with the remote, the buttons are bad, common mits issue.

if this doesnt solve, or you have flashing leds, let me know.
