Could be that the card is not formatted. if there is a setting in the camera to format it, try that, otherwise you could put it in a computer with a card reader and format it from there, with xp you just have to right click the card to get the format option. it could also be that the card is faulty (the brand shouldn't really matter). You may also want to take the camera in to a camera shop and have them have a look at it, make sure that the problem isn't in the camera. Good Luck

My olympus E50 won't save to the XD card . . .

If your Olympus E50 camera is not saving photos to the XD card, there could be a few different reasons. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Check the XD card: Make sure that the XD card is properly inserted into the camera and that there is enough space available on the card for the photos you are trying to save. It's also important to check that the XD card is not locked, damaged, or corrupted.
  2. Check the camera's settings: Make sure that the camera is set to save photos to the XD card and not to the camera's internal memory.
  3. Format the XD card: Formatting the XD card will erase all data on it, but it can also fix some file system errors. Make sure to back up any important files before formatting.
  4. Check the camera's firmware: Make sure that the camera's firmware is up to date.
  5. Check the camera's manual: Some cameras may have different settings or limitations that affect the use of the XD card.
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it may be best to contact Olympus customer support for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose and fix the issue or tell you if a repair is needed.
It's important to keep in mind that the Olympus E50 is an older model camera, which makes it harder to find replacement parts and professional repair services.

I keep getting the error card not recognized when trying to use an Olympus M+ xd 2gb memory card. How large of a memory card will this camera support?

From what i know and i own a Fuji FinePixA360.According to the Manual 1gb is the highest amount of memory listed. Also you can not put a M+ (high speed) card in the camera will read error.Bascially the Fuji is an older camera and was designed for 1gb and must use the "M" xd picture card (DPC-M1GB) .Thats all the higher memory that was available when the camera was manufactured.I don't know if a 2 gb memory card will work but if you do try one make sure its the older M NOT M+.Hope this helps someone,Gary Malcontent

New xd picture card compatability with olympus d-395

Check the maximum capacity memory card that your older camera will take. My Fuji will only take up to a 2gig card unless I flash the firmware in the camera to take the newer 4gig cards. Some of the older cameras maxed out at 1 gig or less. Check eBay for smaller capacity cards as they are getting hard to find in stores.

Olympus xD-Picture Card "Card Error"

First things first - need to make sure that the card is making proper electrical contact with the camera. Have a look at the contacts at the edge of the card and make sure they are spotlessly clean - even a fingerprint may cause problems.

Also, make sure the contacts in the camera have nothing causing a contact problem, and see if this resolves the issue.

D-560

Is that card compatible with that camera. They make HD (high definition) cards (4gig and above) that will only work with newer camera's. Of course, i am speaking of SD cards. But the XD may have a similar feature.
That is the exact error i got when i tried to use an HD card in my 5 year old camera.
Try downgrading to a smaller memory card. Also, is that memory card exactly as the one you have had prior to this?

XD Card format

Have you sent the camera to olympus for the free upgrade to enable the xd 512gb and 1gb card? go to the olympic site and then to their support page for c-50zoom and look for instructions for the upgrade, you must have the product ID from the package and the sales receipt and make sure you have purchased the olympus sponsored card mfg. This is listed in the instructions. They get the job done pretty quick and pay for the return shipping.

Panoramic Pictures

If I remember my last Olympus camera it would only work in Panorama mode with an official Olympus memory card. No third party cards would enable that feature. My instructions read "An Olympus xD-Picture Card is required for panorama shooting." If you are using an official Olympus xD-Picture card, there may be a problem with your camera.
