I'm getting French accents on some things like the backslash and question mark. How did I make that happen and how can I turn that function off?
You turned on Verr. Maj. by hitting [ctrl] [shift]. Hit it again once or twice to turn it off. Normal = ?, then [ctrl] [shift] =

Go to language settings in control panel and ensure that there are no other keyboard options available. It appears that the language toolbar is enabled and has switched to a different language such as French or Spanish.

I went to the language setting on the control panel and it was already set at English-US. The French accents were still coming up -- and not on the correct keys even... The capital E with an accent was appearing when I hit the question mark key for instance. I rebooted the computer and all OK now... I'd like to know what key was touched to cause the problem in the first place.
I'm having the same problem with the French accents etc. Did you ever resolve this?
ééééé...Exactly!! On my HP Pavilion this can happen at any point during the day and after a few hours of being annoying and me having to copy and paste in questions marks or quotation marks - it just magically switches back on its own!! I have tried every combo... Can anyone helpé
After 10 to 15 minutes of typing, I get that accented E every time I hit my shift ? key and hyphenated e when I hit my ' key. I dont know what I was doing to activate it but it was very annoying. For some time now, shutting down my document and starting it again was correcting it but it was getting to be anannoyance. I tried tried the suggestion of going into the control panel anddelete the unneccessary language. So far after 10 minutes of typing, it has not happened again. Thanks. It's really a big relief.
