My sony bigscreen had red fuzzy lines and we determined it needed the convergence chips replaced. I ordered some online and asked for the STK392-560 and he sent me the STK392-570. My husband is not sure if these are compatible or we need to return it but we are anxious for him to fix it tonight with said parts if it is ok

Hi,You are experimenting the most common failures on sony sets:"Light engine problem" basically your tv uses 3 LCD chips that are like tiny screens that create the image and colors.When you get lines like what you are describing its affected by those chips.I will suggest to contact Sony,sometimes they are willing to repair it or give you a certain deal ,since they were in a law suit for faulty light engines.Good luck and God bless you!

I had a problem with my TV colors not lining up. One day I turned it on and the green was out of wack. I checked this message board and replaced the STK chips, bad soldering and all led to me just giving up on that and buying a whole new Convergence Board ($185). I just plugged this in and though now my Green lines up okay, my red is out of whack. Is there something I am doing wrong? Can anyone help me? Did i miss a step? Frustrated......Bruce
