Usually answered in minutes!
I had the same problem where the envelope was stuck at the top of the screen. This only happens when I have an unread message or an unread report, but I couldnt find any unread messages in my inbox.
I did the whole battery out and in again thing, but that made no difference..
After checkin through all my folders, I found out that I'd accidentally moved an unread report to one of my other message folders, and so after deleting that, the envelope went
my mistake!
i have the same same flashing envelope on my screen on the samsung i8510. if you have upgraded and have messages on your sim from a previous phone it may be them that are causing it to flash. i went into sim messages and deleted them and now it has gone.
