It could be the motherboard that is giving you a hard time. it is hard to tell you what it is since i can't see it. Find a place or send it to my company so that we can see what is wrong with it. By the way, if it is under warranty, send it back.

As far as I understand the nano it does not switch off it goes to sleep
which is a low power mode so don't worry but when you put it to sleep
remember and put the hold button on and that will stop it from waking
up and using power.
