Washer keeps stopping during any cycle

My Whirlpool Ultimate Care II washing machine keeps stops workng during cycles. When it stops I can hear a humming noise, if I press in the control nob and then wait awhile and pull it back out the washer will start running again but only for short periods of time, never finishing a full cycle. It happens during any and all cycle at any point. What migh be wrong and is it worth fixing or having fixed?

The humming noise could be from two sources and it is worth while doing a few simple checks first the drain pump is jammed with a foreign object. check nothing caught in the impellor second water not available - check taps turned on. also turn water off, undo fill hoses, put in a bucket and turn water back on try on drain or spin programs to check water drainage as well

Whirlpool washing machine make loud noise after spin cycle quits. Noise continues until cycle winds down. Sounds like a machine gun being fired

Hello, have to tell you that most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping noise during the spin, the load of cloth may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the cloths, then restart the machine. Repeat these steps if necessary.

Thanks

Will not spin on any rinse cycle

Hi, This washer does not have a belt. While the washer is agitating, if you lift the lid will it stop? Some models will agitate but not spin if the lid is up. It sounds to me like the lid switch might be going bad.
If you will get me a model #, I can look this up for you and give you a better idea.

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II keeps taking water.

ck your drain nose/drainline, chances are you have along hose, perhaps even draining along the floor behind hte unit, into a "closed" drain system. in which cawee the wwater is syphoning out during the rinse cycle, youlll needt o raise the drain hose to above 48" and have it drain into a stand pipe to prevent siphoning effect

Washer won't start spin cycle

sounds like a lid assy issue, can you hear a "clicking" just before the lid is closed, try opening nad closing a few times listening for a distinct "click" if not the machine doesnt think the door is closed and for safety reasons wont spin and drain.

Whirlpool ultimate care II stops during cycle

THe most likely cause for this is either the lid switch or the timer itself sticking.
