Question about Apple iPod MA446LL/A MP3 Player

1 Answer

Hardware Issues So....basically in December I purchased a 30gb Video Ipod (white) and have been using it since. It connects up to my laptop fine, and I can transfer music. However, since I just got back from Uni I tried to put songs from my old computer on there...and encountered a few problems... 1) When I plug the Ipod in it finds the hardware, opens the find hardware wizard and asks me to search for software, but my ipod didnt come with a CD. But no matter what I search it comes up saying my hardware wont work properly and it doesn't come up as a hard drive. 2) I downloaded and installed itunes on the old computer and even that wont run. It says: "AppName: itunes.exe AppVer: 7.0.2.16 ModName: unknown ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 10001040" Now there isn't any reason this shouldn't work, I used my creative 20gb mp3 player on this computer no problem, and I'm certain that its specs match the requirements of Itunes. If anyone can help it'd be much appreciated as there is a good 1500 songs on my PC id love to add to my Ipod. Cheers.

Try installing the latest version of iTunes (7.2). That may fix your issue. Also, your iPod won't show up as a hard drive unless you enable disk use in iTunes. Try going to http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93716 for some more help.

You will probably need to restore your ipod using iTunes

If there's any music on it, it may be worth trying to copy this first to your computer using an iPod Transfer program.

How to transfer music/video from iPod to PC/iTunes 9

Anyone who has seen an iPod will understand the basic concept behind the design of the iPod touch: a 3.5-inch There are plenty of reasons why you want to transfer your music/video from iPod to iTunes or PC. For example, you may want to make backup your iPod music/video in case of hard drive crash, to retrieve iPod music/video when you accidentally deleted a song or video from your hard-drive, to share your music/video with your friend, to use your iPod with different or more than on computer, or to copy music/video to your new iPod.

Apple's iTunes really does work when it pulls iTunes purchased content off your iPod. The new iTunes 9 makes it easier to share music/video, movies, TV shows, and more. With Home Sharing, you can browse the iTunes libraries of up to five authorized computers in your house, import what you like, and automatically add new purchases made on any of the computers to your own library.

The iTunes 9 is nice for sharing the iTunes purchased content, but how to share the rest of your content of iPod with your friend, you'll need some additional software. There are a lot of programs that can transfer iPod content to iTunes 9 and PC. But from the point view of both functionality and simplicity, there is an iPod music/video Transfer which works well with all models of iPods including the latest iPod Touch 3G and iPod Nano 5G. Let's find it out.

The program is Wondershare iPod Transfer. By which, you can transfer usic/video between your iPod and PC freely, and you can transfer music/video to iTunes easily. First, connect your iPod to computer, and then you can do the following steps easily.

Transfer music/video from iPod to PC

Select one or more files in the file list, and click 'to-compter', then you can transfer iPhone music/video to your computer to share with your friends.

Copy music/video from PC to iPod directly

Select one or more files in the file list, and click 'to-ipod', then you can copy music/video from your PC to iPod directly without synchronizing iTunes.

Transfer music/video from iPod to iTunes 9

Just like copying music/video from iPhone to computer, you need to check video/audio files and then click 'to-itunes' The program will automatically open your iTunes after transferring is done.

This iPod Transfer works well on all models of iPods to transfer music and video from iPod to PC and iTunes.

When transferring a video to my 30GB Ipod I get a red number 1 circle and the video does not transfer

iPod supports only mp4 and h.264 video, you have to convert your video to iPod compatible video at first, then add the converted video to iTunes library, plug in your iPod to computer, sync your iPod with iTunes, done. If you need detailed info, here is a step by step guide will teach you how to put DVD and video to iPod

No sound from my 30GB ipod in the car and Bose sound dock

It sounds like an issue with the internal motherboard and possibly the audio jack. I'd reccomend taking it into a local apple store to have them fix it or contacting them via their support website here. Also you may want to consider their price quotes vs purchasing a new one when you talk to them.

I have an older 30 gb video ipod and that worked jus fine but when i pluged in a newer ipod nano it doesnt connect and it does with a brand new 16 gb ipod touch. is there anyway to fix this problem?

When you synced to a newer version of iTunes, everything was fine, until you connected the nano and
the touch, which worked fine, and then you tried the 30 GB again and it would not work, right?

Upgrade the software in the 30GB, not with your original 30GB disks, but with newer disks supplied NOW
by Apple, since iTunes went to version 8.1.1 and everything should be back in sync.

Transferring pics from ipod video, 30gb back to laptop

I don't think that is possible. Its a one way thing where you can only put pictures from your computer into the IPod.

If it does work, click on your Ipod in Itunes and go to the pictures folder and see if it will let you drag and drop them.

If it does then it work but ITunes doesn't work that way under normal situations.

30GB ipod not showing any content

If the data on the iPod wasn't corrupted\deleted by the virus, you can use a program such as poddox to transfer the songs you have on there. If it has been deleted or otherwise corrupted, you can try using an undeletion program such as FreeUndelete but the chances that you get the music off the iPod are slim. Don't you have the music saved on your PC?
