Question about Maytag MFI2568AES Stainless Steel Bottom Freezer French Door Refrigerator
Hi I fouond the issue with my maytag ice20 --here is your post Hi, the display lights on my maytag ice2o are all blinking and the flap on the icemaker keeps clacking very loudly every couple of seconds. No ice, no water, and I can't stop the flap. I've unplugged it for a while but it started right back up when I plugged it back in. I've tried pushing all of the buttons but they're not working. I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks, Caelon Best Solutionposted on Apr 19, 2007 and it tells me to order part number hv board part number 12920710 is backordered and I do not know what to do til I get it. Any suggestions?
I had the exact same problem so HERE IS THE REAL SOLUTION: The first post by schwab is only HALF CORRECT. After the board is replaced it has to be programmed from the front digital display board key "+ and - keys" There is a code on the inside of the fridge that needs to be entered using the keypad on the front for temp adjustment etc and a specific sequence to set the program. If not done properly your fridge will not work but will look like it is. Call Maytag for FREE REPLACEMENT. They did mine. FG-Systems Engineer-I watched very closely what they did. Parts may be back ordered because EVERYONE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM

See the post on Samurai Appliance Repair Man's site http://applianceguru.com/forum1/13035-1.html for instructions on how it's possible to fix the HV Controller Board power supply filter caps for $5 in Radio Shack parts (really!). You need to be able to solder electronic components, or know someone who can. There are 2 power supply filter caps that appear to go bad and the result is the blinking and flapping. I had the same problem and decided I could not wait for a $150 replacement back-ordered board.

Here is a more direct link to the step-by-step instructions if you wish to fix the HV board yourself: http://liny.net/MaytagIce2O.htm
Note this requires unsoldering 2 caps and soldering in replacements. Something most folks can do themselves, of find a friend who knows how to solder.

while you are waiting for your part to come in, try unplugging your refrigerator to reset the front panel. When you plug your cord back in and the lights come back on hold down the lock unlock button for 3 seconds and lock your ice maker. This will get your refrigerator working and keep the ice maker flapper door from operating.
Unplugging and holding lock/unlock does not work. Nothing is working.
