This TV is in a church basement meeting area - no cable.
It is mainly used to show DVD presentations - but want to use it for a youth group Super Bowl Party. Basement has concrete walls - 10ft ceiling with a window at the top 2ft the entire length of the room.
I was told I could get an indoor digital TV antenna if it had a digital tuner.
Went to Radio Shack - they sold me an amplified indoor antenna
Radio Shack #15-1892. Will try antenna tonight. What about the digital
tuner? Does it exist in this model? Is that the best way to get non-cable reception?

If its an older set, it probably wont accept digital TV programs. You will need to get a set top box to convert the digital signal to work with your TV.
Hi, Problem seems with main tuner in this tv as other AV inputs working fine so please replace main tuner (TU2) to solve this issue. There are two tuners mounted on A board TU1 and TU2, please replace TU2 and part number would be written on tuner itself. TV is approx 10 years old so I would recommend that do not spend lots of money on it. Thanks.
KP-43HT20 has 2 tuners, one is main (TU2) and 2nd is called sub tuner (TU1). Both tuners are mounted on A board located on right side of TV.
In my opinion, main tuner (TU2) is not working and causing No Signal message.
Let me know if you want to repair tv by yourself.to provide you more technical info.
Connect cable at RF input and please perform Auto Search in TV Menu to search available TV channels transmission and still no signal reception means Tuner is defective in TV.
Are you on Cable service or Direct TV. Have you tried the analog signal? HDTV ready monitor can use a standard analog signal. Most HDTV ready
tv's have analog tuners built into them, meaning you can use standard
cable/over the air signals on them. They will not be high definition.
You can use the analog hookup by hooking it to the coaxial antenna
hookup, or, if you have a cable box, it may have a set of audio/video
outs (the red-white-yellow rca plugs on the back) that you can use to
hook up for a slightly sharper picture.
