Doesnt Know How To Use Fax

I bought a fax recently for a very cheap price but the problem is I don't know how to use it. The model is Brother FAX-780 CL. It comes with the users manual but it was written in Japanese character. I tried searching the users manual online but couldn't find the same model but it looks almost the same as Brother FAX-T78. Please help. Thank you.

Very easy. Make sure you have a phone cord plugged from the wall to a port in the back of the machine marked "line". Place you document in the feed, dial the fax number of the other machine and press start. Your machine will dial the other machine, make some beeping noises then scan your document. If it feeds through ok, and you do not get an error message in the display, then it has been sent!

The first thing that I would try multiple people to ask them to fax you.Sometimes the 2 machines don't "sync".This is a toll free fax test number that I always use to check my machines..1-888-473-2963.Just write the words "FAX TEST" in large letters on a blank sheet of paper..fax it to that number...leave the line open...you should get a fax back in about a minute.If you get a fax back...your machine is fine...let me know if this was helpful....thanks.

I have a brother fax, model 525 DT. When you hit the number key for 7, it does not respond. In other words, that number does not appear in the window. As a result, the fax number is incomplete and fax...

Unfotunately you probably already know the solution here. The keypad needs to be replaced. There is a way to get into the pad and attempt to fix the individual key itself, but if you are here posting this, I'll simply assume that you don't have the technical skill required to fix that individual keypad.
If you purchased it recently, I would go to brother's website, find their support number and call them. It MAY still be under warranty. They can also advise you of any pricing and installation costs associated with replacing the keypad. I have over 20 years experience on office equipment, and I HIGHLY stand behind Brother and their services. Their support is very friendly and will help you... ;)

Your fax will always speak to any incoming call, it doesnt know it is a voice one or a fax until it gets a reply to its greeting, so your fax will answer, and try and communicate, and if no fax replys it will hang up.

The part you are looking for is the DR-250.

There are many places that sell this: Best Buy, Office Depot.

Prices vary from about $80 to about $120. Look onliine and you might be able to find a compatible DR-250.

Send Fax Issue

I have a brother intellifax 770 and I bought it used so their for I do not have the owners manual and I am having trouble setting it up and getting it to work. I can fax out but I just can't recieve faxes I can fax my daughter but when she faxes me she gets an error of 388 but she is able to fax and recieve faxes so we know her end is not the problem.
