I have had my dyson a long time. Not sure what happened but all of a sudden I can't get the wand to fit down into the hose. It stops and leaves about 2 inches sticking out of the top.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07. If you're having trouble getting the wand inside the hose, you might find that there's a blockage somewhere towards the base of the hose. To check for this, and for advice on the correct way to remove the blockage, please see our online step-by-step guide:

If this doesn't help, it might be best if you get in touch with us directly so we can assist you. Please call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). One of our experts will be happy to run through some troubleshooting with you over the phone.

I would like to know how i get the very bottom piece off my vacuum off so I can put a new fidder hose on it? The hose is black and it is only about six inches long. its lacation is on the very end of the...

You don't have to take the vacuum apart.
Assuming this is an Epic 3500 or similar upright Electrolux:
1. Lay vacuum on it's side.
2. Gently pull hose from power head. It's not screwed in so that should be easy.
3. Unscrew it from the upper portion of the machine by turning the hose clockwise. Turning counterclockwise tightens it.
4. Remove it.
5. Screw one end into upper portion of vacuum by turning counterclockwise.
6. Insert other end of hose into opening in power nozzle. Some manipulating may be necessary for proper fit, but this is all that's needed.

Step 6. The tank replaces in a hinge-like
manner. Position front of lid under tabs
(I) on front of tank. Rotate lid down onto
tank.
Make sure lid is secure on all sides
before cleaning.
For full suction, it is important that
the recovery tank lid is properly
secured before cleaning.
Reverse procedure to remove hose
and solution tube.

position.

I have a large lego stuck in the middle of the hose on my hoover

Ok This same thing happend to my wifes vacuum. If its on the straight part use a small broom handle. If its down deeper you can cut the handle in short pieces as if to make a small train. Drill a small hole in the center of the blocks or broom handle pieces. I cut mine 1 1/2 inches long so they can make the turn. Next take a stick and force the clog back words.keep tapping and shacking the hose and stick till it drives the clog back. Keep your tool hanging In a good place till you or someone else needs it. I had to make 2 of them, Because she has a small light weight vacuum with a smaller hose on it. i got a dial rod that fit just right in the hose, And made a uncloger for the small vacuum also.

hope this was helpfull

How do you install the belt on the kirby vacuum?

Step 1:
UNPLUG YOUR KIRBY VACUUM CLEANER. Before you go any further, take your time with this belt change. It's not that difficult, just a little different than most other vacuums. These belts are very easy to find on the internet. kirby-oldstyle1.jpg Step 2:
You should be facing the front of your Kirby vacuum. The height adjustment lever will be on your right. Push the lever all the way down. Lift the light hood with your left hand. Turn theKirby vacuum belt lifter counter-clockwise with your right hand. Unlock the accessory lock. The accessory lock is located under the light hood. Move the lock to the left to disengage it. Remove the front of the vacuum cleaner.
kirby-oldstyle2.jpg kirby-oldstyle2a.jpg Step 3:
Turn the vacuum belt lifter all the way clockwise until the belt drops down. Unlock the roller plate by releasing the two latches on the rear. Pull the roller plate up slightly and then off. kirby-oldstyle3.jpg kirby-oldstyle3a.jpg
Step 4:
Bend one end of the roller bracket just enough to remove the roller. Remove this end of the roller. If you need to replace the roller take it all the way out. Remove any carpet fiber, string, or hair from the roller with a scissor.

kirby-oldstyle4.jpg kirby-oldstyle4a.jpg Step 5:
After you have removed the old belt, slide the new one back on the middle of the roller. If you're Kirby vacuum cleaner has a belt indicator light, the roller will have a magnet built onto one end of it. It's very important to install to install a roller with a magnet on the same side as the indicator light. The roller actually will only fit into the roller plate one way.
kirby-oldstyle4.jpg Step 6:
Place the roller back in the roller bracket. Place the roller bracket back and lock it into place with the 2 latches. Rotate the vacuum cleaner belt lifter counter-clockwise. You should feel the the belt catch. Look inside to make sure the belt is being stretched onto the vacuum belt lifter. Reassemble the machine. After you have reassembled your Kirby, turn the belt lifter cockwise, releasing the vacuum belt onto the vacuum motor shaft. kirby-oldstyle2.jpg

Using accessories on a Kirby Heritage 84

my guess with your kirby is the safety switch on the right side of your vacuum is not being pressed down, are you sure you have the right model of hose? any Heritage 1 2 or Legend 2 can work with it since they all have the same switch. your carpet head is working from the sound of it so either it's just that the high speed switch (being pressed fully down) doesn't work or you are not using the right type of hose (or the piece that engages the switch could be broken off

Hoover Upright SteamVac Deluxe with stair and upholstery cleaner

Don't listen to Solution #1, it is simply NOT correct. This is the correct answer:

As you stated, you already know where the water hose connection is. It is under the easily visible port cover on the top of the base.

What is NOT easily visible is the connection for the vacuum hose. That's because the machine needs to be "reconfigured" before the hose can be attached. To "reconfigure" the machine:
1) Remove the cover off the waste water tank and notice how things appear--it will soon be important.
2) Find and remove the "panel" on the front of the waste water tank by sliding it straight up and out.
3) Replace the panel with the connector by sliding it straight down. When finished the top should look something like it did in step 1). This assures that the dirty water will be vacuumed into the waste water tank.
Done!
