My ford G6E Turbo 2010, gear shift indicator light won't switch off! I have removed key locked doors and tried everything I can think of and it is driving me insane! Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks Stephen. I have read the manual in detail and I can't see any reference to the lighting on the gear shift indicator panel that may explain this issue. Interestingly it went out after about 30-45 minutes. Very, very strange???

I got my answer for a Ford master technician today. Apparently for some reason it is a manufacturers design for the gear selector light to stay on for 15-20 minutes. Go figure????? Thanks anyway.

most likely the shift tube bushings are bad- you may have also lost a few screws in the shift tube or they could just be loose. you have to pull the steernig column down to inspect/repair it.

SOURCE: None of the power door lock switches work.

Have you checked the wires between the doors and body, they will break in time, and yours is a year where they could be broken now, they don't last forever.. that will cause the fuse blowing, and the locks not working.
Check all doors, but most likely the Drivers door or Passenger door will be the culprit......

I have a Ford Falcon FG G6E and the aircon fan stopped working but the aircon does work but the fan is not.

Either ac fan relay or fan itself. Not sure if there is a maxi fuse that covers the relay circuit.

My PRNDL don't work, loose shift indicator won't go into gear. Plenty of transmission fluid, no obvious wear or breakage, what do I do now?

When you turn the key to the ON position are there any instrument lights on the dash? Does the radio work? If not, dead battery.

Takes time shifting, and won't shift into high gear unless you gas on it.

May check fluid level and if low would more than likely indicate a leak. could also be a sensor that controls the shifting. does check engine light come on and if so,this could indicate a bad sensor.

My car will not go into gear unless its started and already in gear. Ill pull it outta gear and won't go back in while running.

Your transaxle will have to come out & new parts installed,
like synchro rings

You should be able to push in the clutch & shift thru all
gears nice & smooth, with no engine running.

That said I wouldn't rule out clutch issues also, but not
for the shifting issues.

Unable to take out of park position

Do the brake light work? No brake lights and it won't shift out of park. Check your fuses and check for loose wires. Check your brake light switch. If that has failed, you won't be able to get out of park. The other one if the shift lock solenoid which is in the shifter assembly. The brake shift interlock switch prevents the car being shifted from park unless the brake pedal is depressed. Try to apply power/ground to the proper wires & see if it will activate.. If it does, then the problem is between the brake light switch & that solenoid. Could be the wires or the switch.Make sure the shifter cable is still held down in place at the shifter assembly & under the hood. It is the interlock switch that you hear/feel clicking. It is for the prior generation but may still apply.

Good Luck and hopefully you soon will be on the road again...;-)

88 ford f150 gear shift lock

A common cause when the gear is on the steering column is a worn out pin. That pin holds the lever to the shift assembly. Try removing the gear shift lever and examine it.
  • If the bushing between the pin and the shift is worn out, replace it.
  • Examine the tip of the the gearshift and replace the shift if it's worn out.
Hope I've helped. If not please feel free to contact me with more details.

1984 ford ford motorhome w/460 v/8,has sat for 3 ? years. well i got it running with a new fuel pump.so now i can't get it to move.it has a "parking brake release"button, but it dosn't...

All those issues are really simple

You have to completely strip all four brakes
& go from scratch. They are nothing but rust

The parking brake cables most likely needed replacing
20 years ago,rust as well

The ignition switch was worn out decades ago also

The shift indicator is either a small cable behind the indicator
that may need to be replaced or adjusted

Before you can do much with the shift, you will as with everything
else, have to remove all mechanical shift linkage & remove all the
rust & possibly braze in the worn out linkage holes to get ride of play

You have a restoration project just to get it safe & road worthy

I thing you understand all this before you asked the question,
even if it never sat for years. Unless it was inside

I have a 1998 Ford F150. The transmission is a 4r70W, automatic. While driving it slipped into neutral and when I managed to get the gears to re-engage, it will only drive in the lower gears. Will not...

Does not matter what your told

You have to diagnose the problem

The TPS may have something to with
shift stratagy & on a 1998 may be worn out
by now, if original. Only testing it will tell
It won't have anything to do with changing gears

Torque Converter Clutch you can feel
separate from shifting
If you ride the brake pedal, you disengage TTC
Lock-up & pick up a few rpm

If the trans is all original, just pull it & rebuild it

If has been replaced, you could clean the valve body
& work on checking out the shift solenoids
