Hi there, I'm Jason Wiesner and I have just installed Windows XP for the 2nd time and my Labtec LCS 2412 Speakers are not giving me ANY sound as if they are not plugged in even though they are. Any tips at all would be helpful. Email me back at [email protected]. Thanks bro.
Go to start ->control panel->sound and audio devices. and click on the audio tab. under sund play back is c if your sound card is displayed in default devices if this area is grayed out, it means there is a problem with your audio device drivers. if this is the case, let me know and I'll tel you how to install the drivers.

To open these you need to pull the front grille off. There are four screws, one in each corner. You'll need to do a bit of prying to get it open as the case is sealed around the edges, but it isn't too terribly difficult. Just take your time.
Being windows vista is most likely is a driver problem. Is it internal or external sound system, not the card that works. If the manufacturer does not have an updated driver by now you can set the device to work like windows xp and it should only effect that device. Also search the web there are driver packs out there for windows vista, keep in mind its all the drivers for everything on one large compressed file so it should be a large file size.
Ultimately I would say upgrade to windows 7, its how windows vista should have worked. I have devices from windows 98 that work on win7 no problems. Vista was just very premature in its release. Hope this can help. Sorry for my bad spelling.
Your speakers should have come with a power cord also, because they need a power supply also.
But the cord you have to plug in goes into the green round terminal on the back of your PC. If the cord it a usb then fit it to any of the spare usb connections.
Hope this helps, let me know if you need more information.
maybe the sound driver of your PC was lost during Operating system removed and replaced... install the sound driver to fix your problem...driver is included to your motherboard software...CD
