Unit power up have sound but no picture.

I have a philips projection TV model 55pp9363h/17. Unit power up have sound but no picture. Three tube isn't lighting up. I change the flyback, horizontal output transitor but have the same problem. Fly back isn't oscillating. 15khz going to the horinzontal driver. Do you know what else could cause the unit from not oscillating. Thank you.

Lets see, This might be a shutdown circuit problem (protector resistor and capacitor are a part of this circuit). You may want to check if the Horizontal oscillator is working if not I would use something like the VA62A to do some signal subsitution. By providing horiz drive to the HOT you can see if the problem is in the HOT, the IHVT or if the problem is at the oscillator. This is a start. Since you replaced the IHVT and the HOT it looks like a possible oscillator problem. However you will not be to tell until you get a drive signal going into the HOT.

Check the damper diode and the protection resistor in the High Voltage circuit. Good Luck.

Picture blurry reddish tint

I'm sorry to say that these Philips rear projection are on the way out. The problem is that the picture tubes (3) are weak. This is typical for Philips rear projection. And the tubes are hard to find and likely to be unavailable. If you found the three tubes it would not be costwise to install them. It would be better to sink the money in new technology tv such as DLP or LCD or LED.

I'm looking a HD cable.

This set may have a DTV cable. You probably have an HDMI cable on your box. You can get a DTV to HDMI adaptor.

Picture is doubled and multi-color

Projection TV sets have two very common problems listed below.

Problem #1) Convergence

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture
