Question about Hitachi 53UWX10B 53" Rear Projection Television
I have the same issue as DDOD "Just recently I have a volume issue. The volume used to be loud at setting of 24 now I have to turn it up to 35-40 o hear it. I have the same issue with my 53" RP TV, I also noted that when I check mark the "loud" button on the audio setup menu, I do not hear a difference, I have to turn the volume up above 43 to hear the TV properly, I have a dvd player inputs to the TV, get same result, so its not my cable box or external device, please help
My problem is solved. There is a separate volume control on my HD cable box that had been turned down. By turning it back up the issue was corrected.

I have the identical problem with my 51S500 which just started (1/5/08). Normal listening setting was at 12-14, I now have to boost it to 25-30 to get the same volume level. I have checked all settings, and nothing has changed. I have yet to get behind it to check the cables. The other thing is, I have 2 bookshelf speakers hooked up to the external speaker jacks, they are affected as well. Playing a movie through the DVD player does eliminate the problem though. The sound is normal when playing a movie. Given the age of the original post, I don't have high hopes of a solution.
