Take the back of the TV coved off. About 12 Phillips screws. Then use a can of compressed air and clean all the dust out. You'll be shocked at how much dust there will be. Use a vacuum to suck the flying dust. Be careful not to bump anything with the vacuum hose. Robert

From the brief description of your problem it sounds like you have a component in your unit which is overheating after a short time and shorting out causing the set to shut down. It could be anything. If you are not a tech you will need to find a reputable repair shop. I doubt you could find this, most techs will have problems with this one. Cost should not be that much. The biggest problem will be finding the problem. Good luck.

I have a RCA rear projection TV model #P52939 with chasis # PTK195S2B that comes on for around 5 minutes and then cuts off. I suspect a component heating up but have no idea what. Any information is helpful. I do not have a manual. One more thing I noticed is that after 10 minutes or so I can cut it back on and the blue and green and not together but ghosted. I can wait 20 minutes before cutting it back on and this is not a problem. Still cuts off after 5 minutes.
I HAVE A 1993 PANASONIC 51" MODEL NUMBER: PT-51SF30R
