Head Unit going goofy

I've had the KD-G700 Cd player for a few years now with no real issues. Last week (Nice hot day) the buttons on the faceplate seem to be reassigning themselves randomly. Ex. The Eject button starts tilting the face, the Skip Left button changes from FM1 to FM2 etc., The FM button goes into the Mode function. I tried resetting with the tiny button on the front with a pen and it kept doing the same thing. Help?

THE BUTTONS ON THE FACE KEEP CHANGING FUNCTIONS. POWER BUTTON CHANGES TO MODE BUTTON. SKIPPING TRACKS DOES NOT WORK WHILE THE POWER BUTTON IS DOING THE MODE BUTTON'S WORK.

If the unit has a removable face take a pencil eraser and try shining up the little contacts on the back of the face and the radio. See if that cleaning helps.

Open the slot by pressing the up-arrow button at the upper-left corner of the faceplate. The control panel will then slide down and the slot appears. Refer to page 11 of the manual.

Head unit has power but the buttons and remote do not work.

May be the detachable panel buttons are stuck. Call customer relations.

Repeatedly flashing on and off

The only thing I can recommend is for you to look up the user's manual. If you lost it, I am sure you can get it off the manufactur's website. Another thing to do unplug your car's battery for about 3 min. this will reset everything.

Unit won't read CD

The thing with Head Units is unless you take it to a guy that specialises in electronics to give the full problem, it's better to replace the unit. Also repair might cost a fortune. Can you get warranty?

The front panel stuck

This head unit comes with a security screw that can be installed to secure the faceplate for retail display. If it was purchased as a demo model, the screw may be in place. To check, the deck has to be dismounted from the vehicle. The screw location will be in the side of the chassis, near the faceplate on the same side as the release button. Removing the screw will allow the faceplate to come off.

Faceplate not responding / acting very weirdly

Sounds like a bad connection with the faceplate and the multi connector that the faceplate mates with when closed. check for dirt and bent pins on both connectors. Luck
