This printer has been barely used in the three years it sat in my motor home. Now have a new (with Vista) laptop and the printer does not respond to printing commands. The laptop recognizes the printer but the the printer does not respond. HP tells me the printer is the problem (too old) but can be fixed on line (for the cost of a new one). That tells me it's a software issue with the printer. Does that make sense? Anyone know how to address the problem? Any input appreciated. Roger
If it is software problem try installing default drivers for HP deskjet 3500 from within vista itself. Solved my problem. May the force be with you.
The print Head has gone bad. Not using a printer that
often will dry out the print head. The print head is where the ink
goes. Try to get a cue tip and put some Alcohol in the place where the
ink goes through. These should be small sponge like things underneath the
ink cartridges.
