Stove not on - but fan comes on automatically -

Model c201.........the other night my jenn air fan came on all by itself....I had turned the stove off about 1 1/2 hours before this happened.  the fan wouldn't turn off.......no light indicator on either....electrical burning smell too.....only way to turn off fan was to turn off circuit breaker.......if I turn on circuit breaker the fan comes on again.....won't turn off.  I keep circuit breaker in off position - and can't use oven either (same circuit)

It sounds as if the thermostat is broke. it could be the two wires off the thermostat are after melting together. ( burning smell). the thermostat stops power going to fan when it sences below a certain degrees. but your one has been cut out of the circuit due to the two cables melting together. this means fan will constantly stay on. you need to find and replace thermostat and make sure no cables melted together. if they are then seperate and use insulating tape to re insulate.make sure circuit breaker is off while doind this

The blower won't turn off on the grill side of the stove. I changed the switch but the blower stays on.

Since I don't know your model number, I will have to give you deneric advise. Some fans have a thermostat that will activate the fan when certain temperatures are met. If yours is like that, then the thermostat could be the cause.

We have new house and have cold air coming from Jenn-air vent. What can be done to stop this? We had a Jenn-air in our previous home and did not have this trouble

Most stove vents have a diverter plate which prevents air from coming in. When the fan is turned on, this diverter is opened by the air flow and allows the air to flow through. It sounds like this plate is either stuck or was not installed when the ventilation duct was installed.

Just installed a new Jenn-Air Model JED8430. Burners work well but fan will not turn on. Two black wires and a ground coming out of my wall....presumedley no neutral. Any suggestions

I suspect that the two black wires were attached to a wall switch or a wall times, along with the ground.

Check to see if you have a hot wire there. then temporarily wire the two black wires together and see if the fan comes on, i believe it will.

Jenn-Air electric stove top - burners/fan won't come on

you may have lost a leg of your 240V service. make sure you have 240 to the appliance and then start chasing down where you lost it. there is no onboard trip or reset on this unit

Ventilation system on Jenn Air CVG4280

My Jenn-Air had the same problem. When you install the drip pan for the burner module, there is a "finger" on the pan that is inserted into a hole in the front of the stove. If you look into that hole, you will see a lever switch. The finger on the drip pan on the burner module is supposed to push that lever switch down and turn the fan off, but over time the lever gets pushed down further and ultimately it does not get activated when the drip pan is installed.

You can either replace the lever switch, or you can try to pull it back into place and tighten the two small screws that hold it in place. Actually, I chose a third option and attached a small, flat spring to the finger on the drip pan.
