I need to reprogram our Tranz 380 for new payroll company
I purchased the Tranz 380 from my old payroll company. My new payroll company has sent the specs to reprogram, but no instructions on how to do that. We do not have an IT person. What can we do?
Re: I need to reprogram our Tranz 380 for new payroll...
What you need to do is to call the customer support line from this new company and have them walk you through the process. What the terminal needs is a new load of software. They can walk you through that process and help you if there are any problems with it.

Your shop has optical phone lines? lol I never heard of such a thing and I used to work for MCI worldcom. All you need to do is call up Qwest or your local phone provider and have them put in a standard analogue phone or fax line. Here it would run you about 20 bucks if you dont get it as a business line. maybe 50 if you tell them it is for a business.
To solve last 4 digit issue. It need to reprogram Tranz 330. Not buying Printer this model is not compatible with PCI compliance. contact your processing company and let them reprogram this.
More than likely the password is your Merchant ID # if not more than likely is you would have to purchase a new one, mainly because most of the machines have been updated by frimware or baud rate which may prevent normal usage to credit card companies.
All processor applications are different but for the most part the steps are similar.
At themain screen first print detail report. Pass word is usually 1 Alpha Alpha 66831. Then back at the main screen hit 9 then usually 1 right after it should dial out and settle out your transactions. Hope this helps.
after the tranz prints the first receipt do not press the func/enter button, but rather press the clear button on the upper right hand corner. It will not print the second receipt nor will it cancel the transaction.
The error message "Programming Err 0" means that the terminal memory has been corrupted. The only way forward is to acknowledge the situation and reload the terminal application.
If you press the [1] and [FUNC/ENTER] key at the same time, oten the message will go away. However, you will have a terminal with no programming in it. You will need to call your processing company and get a new load.

There is not a single answer to this question. Why? Because to be able to print yesterday's report depends on if the application that is in the terminal has been designed to allow you to do that. The only way to answer this question is to ask it of the customer support line of your processor. It may be that the only way to get that information is to have them print it out and mail it to you.
