How can i get the sound back on my laptop it was ok on the old windowsXP pro,but i had to get a genuine windows advantage kit to be legal, now cd and dvd with no sound the laptop is a TOSHIBA sat pro A30...

The sound is not working because your system needs some sound driver files. This is basically some files that help your computer software communicate with the hardware.

i believe you have a toshiba sat pro A300. (DO NOT INSTALL IF YOU HAVE A300D )
the download link for your sound drivers:

I need sound drivers for A 30

Go to Toshiba's support site and find your model number. If you don't find your exact model, try to figure out what hardware you have and look at models that are close to yours. It's probably also a sound card that's covered by Windows already, so you might be able to uninstall the sound card and then have Windows search for it and automatically install it, but maybe you've already tried this.

My laptop

If you have an operating system installer use it and format your laptop first. Then proceed in installing the new os.Download the specific drivers needed for your laptop.Remember that before you reinstall you must first know what these specific drivers are..You can see it from the device manager. Click my computer--->left click----->properties-------->hardware tab---->device manager. Or simply type the model of your laptop and search for its drivers from the net. Another best option is buy a recovery cd from toshiba.
