Question about Dell UltraSharp 1704FPT 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor
It sounds as if you have a resolution set that the display does not support. Restart your machine in safe/VGA mode by holding down F8 while the machine boots. Once in safe mode, set the resolution (Right click--> properties--> Settings--> Screen Resolution) to one that your display supports.

Or www.digikey.com just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current, long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.

Solved the problem the primary problem was the onboard video but by extension there seems to be a problem with the mainboards of the GX270 (bad capacitor i believe) an AGP card should do the trick for now. thanx for your help
