HP PSC 1610 All-in-one Inkjet Printer

My computer does not detect the printer, when I plug in the USB it says unknown device and cannot detect the printer pls help.

Thanks, good suggestion, but I did that innitially, then could not proceed with the installation because the USB did not detect the device, I have downloaded the patch for the printer as well. I then tried to install it manually, could you suggest something else? I have Windows XP service pack 2 and tried intalling this printer on three different machines, one laptop, Travelmate C110, two pentium 4 all with same Windows XP and had the same error. The computer is seeing the device but cannot recognize it.

Assuming this is windows XP, the first thing you need to do is use the install disc that came with your printer. During the install, the program will tell you when to plug in your printer then it will automatically find it.

Sometimes a faulty USB cable can be the culprit. Try swapping out the cables.

Otherwise, since it won't install on other computers as well, that leaves a faulty printer.

My HP PSC 1610 All-IN-ONE will not read SD-cards. We have had this problem in the past and now that my son's birthday came, I cannot upload pictures to my computer.

Please try unplugging the Printers USB cable reboot the PC, and after it is at desktop, THEN plug in the printer, Now it should work OK, Also Try ANOTHER USB port too.
If that doesn't work, again unplug the printer and reinstall the drivers from the DVD. etc. Now try again. If it still doesn't work, perhaps it is the SD card? In fact, I guess FIRST you should check that SD card and see if it can actually be read?

I upgraded my Mac mini to Snow Leopard OSX 10.6.2. Reloaded the printer software but the printer wont print. THe printer is connected via USB. When I send a document it shows error on the printer queue....

I want to add my PSC 1610 as a network printer (it's attached to a print server device). When adding the network printer windows asks for the *.inf file... I can't find this file on the installation disk...

i have the same printer- unplug the printer usb cable- un-install the printer- plug the usb back in. when the new device wizard comes up, tell you have cd. insert install cd- browse for your cd device letter- choose that. then re-install printer- full install! will prob. ask you to 'name' your printer!- write down that name! you'll need that, as well as your psc 1610 i.d. then , if your computer is the net-work comp., you need to set it up on control panel to share. then check other computers on network and see if they 'see' the hp psc 1610 and then add them to printer sharing- this is where you'll need the 'name'. i had less problem with w98se, than i did with xp pro or home! love you, microshaft!!

I can't print anything from my computer.

1)right click the my computer icon
2)click properties and then click hardware n go to device manager.
3)uninstall all usb ports and then scan for hardware changes
4)ur pc will detect your printer and ask for printer drivers
5)re load drivers and your pc will communicate with your printer
6)for reloding install the cd follow the instructions on the screen and click next
7)restart when the printer is loded.connect the wires and cords properly.

Connecting 2 PCs to the HP PSC 1610 Printer at the same time

Hey,

This usb printer can only be connected to one pc at a time, you could use a USB SWITCH to connect both computers to the switch and printer into the other end, so with the press of a button you could connect the printer from port 1 (pc1) to port 2 (pc2)
