The light flashes after a certain amount of run time. It is a reminder to check the filter to see if it needs cleaning. Once you have checked/cleaned the filter and reinstalled it, press the filter button for 5 seconds and the light should go out.
It is only going to hurt your brain if it keeps flashing. The unit simply doesn't recognize that the filter is clean. The little light can be incredibly annoying, though. I would recommend performing a power cycle. If that doesn't work, make sure you replaced the filter correctly.

bad connection on plates or wires that run along the front of the plates in the cell. If you hear snapping or arcing then its the plates shorting out, look for bent plates and broken wires or loose sagging wires.
Possible that the suspect could be the controller board, you can switch the machine off power for sometime, check the power outlet for the correct voltage. If not the front panel must be removed to check on the board and a possible fault of the processor or memory.
Here is some information on this model which I hope will help...
The lamp indicator lights when the lamp is due to be replaced. It will flash if a circuit abnormality is found. The temp indicator lights if an abnormal temperature is detected. If it goes too high it will shut down flash.
The lamp indicator is furthest away from the power switch if that helps.
If the lamp timer was approaching the end of the lamp life you would see a REPLACE LAMP nag screen when the projector is turned on. The fact that you have not mentioned this suggests that this is unlikely to be the problem.
The filters on the model are on the underside. There is a removable panel directly under the lens. You should not use canned air as you are blowing dust into the projector. It is recommended that you use a vacuum cleaner. Filters should be cleaned every 100 hours and replaced when the projector is relamped. You can wash the filter by hand with water only, ensuring it is dry before replacing it. Do not run the projector without the filter in place.
It sounds like the filter is very dirty or one of the cooling fans has stopped working which causes the lamp temperature sensor to shut it down to prevent a lamp explosion or other damage. Check / Clean the filters as good air flow is important. That may be all that's wrong.
my phone wont stay on and when it does come back on it shuts right back off. the LED light on the front keeps flashing red. ive taken the battery out and everything and nothing seems to work. help please!
The filter light can also indicate a build up of debris and lind behind the heater causing the blower to work harder to push out warm air. It could also indicate that the blower may need a cleaning or going bad. I will suggest that you pull the front cover off of the unit to inspect the blower which is located at the top of the heater. Feel the motor as it is running to see if it is hot. If so, you will probably need to replace it. I may have a used on so let me know. If everything in front looks good, pull the top trim panel off of the heater just behind the filters and inspect for dust. Clean with a shop vac. Hope this helps.
