The number on the panel of your car stereo is not a measure of actual volume. It is just a comparative scale, with 0 being the minimum and 30 being the maximum. The volume as measured in decibels is dependent on the power level of the amplifier and impedance of the speakers. The internal amplifier puts out 22 watts per channel (50 watts peak) into 4 channels, and there are output jacks for an external amplifier(s). Product specs in link.

Hi Bill,

Either a short or too small a fuse.

Many fuses are what they call, 'Slo-Blo'. they are designed to take high current for a few seconds before blowing. This prevents normal power surges from blowing the fuses.

If this is happing every time you replace the fuse, something is wrong internally that requires attention.

Remember, the fuse blows to protect the equipment. The next step is to find out what is making the fuse blow.

If it's under warranty, don't open it up. just exchange it.

As for the reason it's blowing, you would need to post all the symptoms.

there is a ribbon wire that connects the faceplate contacts behind the faceplate that always go bad on all radios with rotating faceplates. you can probably find this part on ebay or on parts.com or by jvc.

The thing with Head Units is unless you take it to a guy that specialises in electronics to give the full problem, it's better to replace the unit. Also repair might cost a fortune. Can you get warranty?

Disconect the power then reconnect it it will reset the settings and eject the cd barring any kind of physical defect with the player (e.g. cd stuck) the easiest way is just to disconnect the negitive battery terminal
