I just bought a new computer and want to use my Dell All IN ONE PRINTER 922. The installer runs and recognizes the drivers but won't load them so I get an error. I think it's because it's not compatable to Vista as I found some files that look like they are for Windows XP-SP2. I even bought a new printer that came with the computer (Lexmark) but it doesn't work worth a darn with Vista either which is why I want to use my Dell printer. I have an emachine PC- model T5226. if that makes a difference. Thanks for any help you can give, I have 4 printers and the only one that works with Vista with NO ERRORS is my LexMark office all in one and it prints only black and white and I use my printers for pictures a lot.

Re: Dell all in one printer won't load to Vista
The only drivers I know that work are on this website: http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=932803
You will need to login to download the drivers.
The file is 39.1 MB. If you have dial-up it will take a while.

Download and run this patch
(a MUST with Vista machines) to completely remove the printer from your
computer. Run the patch until it prompts you to restart your computer. then visit these website to download and install http://dell.driversdown.com/dell-drivers-downloads/Dell-Photo-All-In-One-Printer-922_8587.shtml
If your laptop is running Vista and your old desktop was running XP and the disk you got with your printer had drivers that worked with XP and Vista is not listed on them, it would be a case of incompatibility. You would need to go to the Dell website to download updated drivers for Vista if they are not of the standard Vista driver package. (The driver model changed between XP and Vista making XP drivers incompatible with Vista.)
You will have to use the New Dell 922 VISTA drivers and not the XP drivers in order for it to work with your Vista Loaded PC. The new drivers for the 922 under Vista are available for download at Dells website. Hope this helps.
