Question about Canon FAXPHONE L80 Laser

1 Answer

Faxphone is not copying or feeding

I suddenly was unable to make copies from my fax; also noticed that the document was not feeding at all. I went to an earlier restore point that didn't help. I re-booted several times, still no change. I don't see any error message in the machine itself. There is no problem with the toner because with the multiple attempts to copy an article from the internet there has been copies made but when I place another document in the feeder it doesn't print at all.

When pressing the start button to start making copies with the ADF the machine beeps. It never did that until today and it had an error E003 earlier and I reset it then it started making the beeping noise.

Try opening the cover where the document feeds in, make sure there is not any objects obstructing the path. If not try taking a rag moist with rubbing alcohol and thoroughly clean the rubber rollers and the square rubber pad on the back side of that cover.

Look to make sure there is no whiteout or other dirt on the lense where you feed the parer in..there is a long thin glass inside where you feed the document to be faxed or copied..mine was doing the same thing..just a little speck of whiteout on it..cleaned it and its working good again.

Canon B640 printing problem

The scanner lamp is not working. When making a copy, the lamp lights the source document, so if there is no light, the source document 'looks' black. Your machine will need to be serviced.

Copying Documents If you make copies of multiple documents at a time, the number of pages the fax can scan into memory varies depending on the scanning resolutions as follows: * STANDARD and FINE result in the same resolution when making copies
* If MEMORY FULL appears on the LCD when making copies, reduce the number of documents to be copied or reduce the amount of total copies.
  1. Lift up the document tray.

  2. Insert the top of the document, face up, into the ADF (1) until a beep is heard.
  3. Adjust the document guide to the width of the document.

  4. Press <Resolution> to select the resolution.
You can select [STANDARD], [FINE] or [PHOTO].
  5. Press <Start/Copy>.
  6. Enter the number of copies (up to 99) using the numeric buttons.
To make a correction to the number of copies, press <Clear> and re-enter the number.
  7. Press <Start/Copy>.
To stop copying anytime, press <Stop>. If the document does not eject, press <Start/Copy> for a few seconds, then the fax will feed out the document.
  8. The new resolution will remain until it is changed.
