CCD and viewer

The CCD is appearing streaked and washed out along with the exposures.

    I have same problem. Pictures taken in viewer are pale and have horizontal lines through them. Canon PowerShot A60.

    My Canon A60 looks normal before taking the picture but after the picture is taken it looks all washed out. Tried in all the modes,same result except the video is normal.

    I have the same problem with my Canon A60. In all modes but video the picture is washed out,almost white.

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

Exposure lamp problem
• Check the CCD input value for the lighting status of the exposure lamp 100 ms after the exposure lamp is lit and the carriage is moved to the shading position. If the exposure lamp does not light, turn off the lamp. After 500 ms, light the lamp again and, a further 500 ms later, check the CCD input. The exposure lamp does not light after 5 retries

Poor contact of the connector terminals. Defective exposure lamp. Defective main PCB or inverter PCB. Incorrect shading position. CCD PCB output problem.

How to fix blurry screen display...

This condition appears when you transfer the pics at pc? If yes, you have a problem with the CCD image sensor and will need contact your service local technician to change this part. If not, its possible that your LCD screen viewer go to bad or some exposure or ISO settign need adjust.

White horizontal streaks

This sounds like some kind of lens flair. Make sure there are no bright light sources at about 45 degrees to the lens and it should correct this problem. If it is not that then there may be a problem with the CCD, the part that receives the exposure. Without knowing if this is a point and shoot or digital SLR this is the best answer I can give.

Playback problem

do u see these streaks in lcd as well during rec or just in output

and also first try cleaning the head with head cleaning cassette if it helps otherwise ur problem is this see the link just call JVC for free repairs for CCD Sensors u get streaks blackouts and dsicolored picture when CCD goes Bad no problem it is a known problem just call them in ur region they will arrange for free repairs and pls rate me FIXYA for help

Washed out pictures

set auto and take pics if pics are washed out adn dis colored and streaked then

CCD failure !

call Pentax i think they will do it free of charge it is a known problem in thousands of cameras just give them a call

Green & Purple blurry images

In all these cases it appears the CCD (image recording circuit) has absorbed tiny amounts of moisture. These circuits are known to have been manufactured improperly. The only solution is replacement of major circuitry.

cant be sure without seeing but sounds like the ccd sensor is faulty,not one that can be sorted without sending to service im afraid,make sure you ask for est before paying
