Freezing Hi! i was listening to my songs i downloaded and in the middle of the song it froze and turned off. A couple minutes later the back came off. What caused this to happen?

connect the player to PC and format it...that must solve the "free x mb for music DB" problem

It is possible a virus has infected your device. If there is no virus in it, then it require re-programming. Visit http://www.s1mp3.org and find the appropriate firmware and tool. Try to reprogram it.

try restarting it by holding the middle button and "Menu"

If it freezes up hold the pause button and turn it off, then hold down the back button and up on the keypad and it will restart. If for some reason it keeps freezing constantly I suggest you contact zune.

I had the same problem with mine freezing. It happened when I kept pressing the back track button (on left side) to go back to an earlier song. It then froze in the middle of a song, couldn't hear the song, the time of the song was frozen, etc., and the unit stayed lit, despite pressing all the buttons. I tried holding down power but nothing happened. I read another person's post that you need to hold it down 15-30 seconds. I did this and it worked, you just have to hold it down until it shuts down, which was about 15 seconds as suggested, could be longer for others.
For me, next time I wont keep clicking the tracks repeatedly, I'll simply go out of the song and back to the song I want through the menu.

Hrrmm, could it be the file format? iPod plays m4a files, so if they're wma or something like that, it won't work. Have you played the current songs on it before with any luck? Did it stop in the middle of a song, at the end of a song or did it not work at all? With what method did you get the music on there? Download (Free/at cost?), Ripped from CD (What format? Using what program?).
