Question about InFocus TD40 40 in. LCD Television
Got one of these TD40's and the past year its been cutting off. I turn it on and it will run for 10 hours straight no problem. but sometimes it cuts off after 30 seconds to 2 hours. the light on the front just blinks amber. called the company it cost over 1000 bucks for them to fix the problem. Is their a tech manual available. If i know the cause of the problem as long as its not the main board i think i can fix it. Has anyone else experienced this problem can you give me some tips.
it could be the fan, colorwheel or high temp. remove the lamp and turn it on. do the fans spin? if not, replace the fans. does the colorwheel (colored glass wheel near the lamp) spin? you should be able to see it and hear a high-pitched whir. if not, replace the colorwheel. if the lamp was still hot when it was turned off, you need to let the fans run and cool. then unplug it, plug it back in and try again.
