It was driving fine until a couple days ago when I was driving onto an entrance ramp to the HWY. All of a sudden it just kept slowing down until it would not move anymore. I then popped the hood and checked fluids and realized I had very little oil in it. I had it towed put oil in it but the engine and A/T temp oil light stay lit when I turn key.
Hi Nikki, What oil was low? Was it engine oil or gear box oil? Did the engine overheat? what exactly happened? Did you hear any strange noises when the engine stopped? Was the vehicle towed or was it on the back of a recovery vehicle? If it was towed, at what speed and over what distance? What engine is fitted? Is it petrol or diesel powered? Give as many details as possible to help us help you. Regards John
The engine oil was low. The engine did not overheat, but my boyfriend said my water temp. may have been to hot and I don't have a water temperature gauge. I did not hear any strange noises. The vehicle was towed on the rollback for about 20 miles. The engine is a 5vz-fe gasoline
Hi Nikki, I think your best course of action is to take the vehicle to a qualified technician. Ask for a report of the engine condition and then ask for a complete diagnostic scan to be carried out. It sounds to me that the low oil level has caused damage to the pistons, piston rings and possibly the crankshaft bearings. It is a good policy to pop the hood daily and just check the oil and coolant levels daily, and the brake fluid at least once a week. Let's hope that my prediction of doom and gloom for your vehicle is a very pessimistic one and everything is fine. Regards John

You have a stuck relay. It will be in the fuse pannel under the hood. With the car off open your hood and find the fuse pannel the best way to find it is to put your finger on the relays and feel them. One will be buzzing. You will have to get another one from your parts store and replace it.

verify good spark plugs and correct ignition timing. make sure the engine is getting to correct temp (195f) Has the mileage always been this bad? be sure the cam timing is correct.

The sensor inside the tank is defective or covered in goo. Remove the sensor from the tank or remove the tank and flush it clean with hot water and a mild solution of white vinegar, if the sensor still reads the tank is low replace it.
The alarm system somehow got activated , this is usually because the battery becomes discharged or disconnected try doing this:
Remove the key from the ignition
disconnect the negative battery terminal
put the key back in and turn to ON
exit the truck and leave door open
reconnect the battery terminal
get in and leave door open, if the alarm horn stays off it should start.
