Don't want to set up the freeview as my tv has it already.
When you set up the recorder Freeview stations will be stored. This means that you can record TV stations without watching them. So you can say watch BBC1 on your TV and record a program on Channel Four. You need the recorder set up with Freeview to recorder channels. Otherwise you would have to have your TV on and recorder set to record via the scart lead. Which would be not great quality and messy.
You should be able to loop the aerial lead so that both the TV and recorder can get the signals from your aerial, if that's what is bothering you.

Sorry to say no it wont not unless the Tv set manuel says it has a Duel Freeview feed , you have to get another freeview box for the recorder .
besides If you used the freview in the tv 1 , the tv would have to be on when you wanted to record ?. and 2 you couldnt watch another channel whilst recording another .. only 1 tuner ?. also you could only record the program you had on .at the time no timer facility .
People are still used to the Old system of VHs and the fact that all videos had tuners built in so you could watch and record .. It will come and indeed some more modern DVD recorder have freeview built in again sorry but thats the facts , and dont forget if you want the pay per view channels on free view your going to need a tuner with a pay card port ... This worked for me... In the "Others" section of the Setup options, set Quick Start to Off. Then select and confirm the Shipping Condition option. Power the unit down using the unit's on/off button then switch the unit off at the mains. After a few seconds, switch it back on at the mains then turn it on via the on/off button. On power-up, it should (eventually) start scanning, but this time it should find the channels. I usually only need to turn Quick Start off to force a clock update when the clocks go back/forward, but it would appear that with Quick Start enabled, the unit attempts to used cached info about the channel multiplexes, which was obviously invalidated by today's mux re-organisation. Hope it works for you too.
