Urgent-shuts itself off

I am able to look at pictures in the preview mode but when I switch to the picture taking or movie mode, it shuts itself off. Do you have any solution to this?

It seems, if the batteries are Zinc-carbon, even if they are new, they wouldn't work (because of higher electricity drain especially when the lens try to come out). Try using alkaline or Ni-MH instead.

Hello, please try to replace the batteries with freshly charged ones (NI-MH). If this does not help you can contact me at LIVE session. Best regards, Arpi

I think something is blocking the lens......i am not seeing anything when i try to take a picture

Have you tried switching to the picture preview mode after every shot? If the pictures come out there, it simply means that your lens and camera itself cannot "talk" to each other and you may have to bring it down for servicing.

A630 clicks and wont take picture. Stays in preview mode.

Do you mean you are expecting it to show the photo that you just took for a few seconds before it goes back to preview mode? There's a menu setting which I think is called "Picture Review" and you can set it for something like 0, 2 seconds, 5 seconds, something like that.

I hope that was it.

How do I get out of Movie Mode?

Unfortunately it sounds as if that camera will need to be sent in for service. Call Tech Support at 1-800-828-4040 to do a little troubleshooting and get your possible repair options.

Hope this helps.

Still Images from a Movie Clip????

If you are using windows xp then it is easy, get in movie maker in xp. Play the clip in the preview monitor.
    • On the Play menu, click Play Storyboard or Play Timeline, depending on the view you are working in, and then pause playback at the frame of video you want to capture as a picture.
  1. On the Tools menu, click Take Picture from Preview. -or-
On the monitor, click the Take Picture button.
  2. In the File name box, enter a name for the picture file, and then click Save.
