Laptop Wont Boot

Hi, When ever I press the power button on my Acer - Aspire 3003 laptop, it starts to run for 3 seconds, clicks twice and then just stops - however the power button stays green and the screen stays black [doesn't even turn on] Can someone please help me?

Its about 3 years old so the warrent has gone [just my luck]

Its weird, I've read articles about this on the internet, but no one has a solution.

I've tried it with the battery in, and with it out, and plugged into the wall. I press the power button, it turns green, then you hear the fan boot up, the screen stays black, and then 2-3 clicks, and its not powering up, but the power light is still on.

Great News! fixed the laptop! I went to compuzone Circuit city and Best Buy and had a variety of diagnoses such as the mobo the lcd and the hard drive. It turns out it was 1 stick of ram. Its the craziest thing so if your laptop EVER goes dark check the Ram individually it worked

Does it sound like it's starting up at all? Is the problem that only the screen turns blank? You might have just disabled the standard output. Try pressing Fn (bottom left on the keyboard) and the F5 on the top a few times to see if the screen toggles back on. You might also try to run it without the battery, and on the battery only in case it's a faulty battery or power supply that causes the problem. If not, it sounds lsike a serious problem, so if there is any chance of the waranty still being valid I'd call acer support asap.

Acer aspire 5536 wont boot up

remove power cord, pull out battery, press and hold the power button for 10 full seconds. Wait 1 minute, place battery back in and then power cord. Then try it. This should work. If by chance it does not, check your memory chips because an effective one will prevent boot up. You can remove one at a time and try booting to see if one is faulty.

Laptop wont switch on fully

Did you press F8 as you boot up to get boot up options and did try the Last Known good Configuration and Safe Mode?
If these didn't work I suggest you re-install Windows.

My laptop wont go to desktop on startup.

Here is what you need to do
1. Power on the machine
2. At the white ACER BIOS screen, hold the “Alt” key and press the “F10” key simultaneously to start Acer eRecovery
3. Once eRecovery has loaded, you can cancel the process and now your laptop should boot normally or you can click “Restore to Factory Default Settings”
4. Click “OK” to continue .
5. From here, the eRecovery process will update all the data on the C: drive and restore a fully functional factory image (approximately 10 minutes).
6. Once eRecovery has run, press “OK” to reboot unit

My Aspire 5315 will not start

I actually contacted Acer by email for this and got a reply in less than a day.

Try the steps below for a power reset, to eliminate a hardware problem with your notebook:

1. Disconnect the AC adapter from the laptop.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds then release it. (You will not see anything happen)

4. Connect the AC Adapter to the laptop. Make sure the AC Adapter is plugged in.

5. Turn the computer on as normal.

6. Once Windows boots, insert the battery.

If the notebook still does not power on, we recommend the notebook be serviced by our authorized repair depot. You can set this up for service yourself by going to www.acerpanam.com; click on the link for Depot Repair. If you are out of warranty, or you would rather do this via phone, please contact Acer Technical Support at 1-800-816-2237, Mon-Fri 7am-9pm CST and Sat-Sun 8am-5pm CST excluding holidays. For out of warranty products please call 1-866-621-2237. Hours of operation are 7am-8pm CST, Mon-Fri, and Sat-Sun 8am-5pm CST excluding holidays.

Hi please help me with my acer 3003 wont boot

try to power up with power cord only and see if it works. If no lights turn on than your motherboard is dead. If it turns on and nothing happens make sure there is memory installed(RAM). If it turns on and you see windows screen than it shuts off than your operating system needs to be installed again. Also, you can try booting in safe mode by hitting f8 when you initially start your computer and see if it stays on and if it does you have a virus most likely. Good luck.

Laptop will not power up

Try removing the battery..then attempt a power up. make sure there are no USB devices connected as well. Take some time, it happened to me, it was caused by a non USB compliant lamp! The machine would not start at all.
