Question about Whirlpool GU2700XTSS / GU2700XTSY Built-in Dishwasher
We just bought a whirlpool gu2700 dishwasher and installed it ourselves. it ran very long cycles and we realized the dishes were not coming clean. we found that a valve in our kitchens plumbing was restricting the water flow to the dishwasher. that is fixed and we have great water pressure to the machine now. but i do not know if the machine is filling properly. the water entering the machines tub is at a much lower pressure and only fills recessed hole in the center of the machines floor (where the sensors and drain are) and does not fill the entire floor of the tub. Is the water supposed to fill the floor of the tub when the cycle starts?
Dissassemble the fill valve and verify that the plastic screen is clean. If so, look undr the screen and remove the black rubber washer (but leave the white plastic restrictor in place).

John, the dishwasher has a timed fill, make sure you are using 3/8 inch line. If you are using 1/4 inch, that would be your problem. The fill should be just below the heating element. If you are using the 3/8 inch line, the next suspect would be the fill valve itself. Make sure nothing is kinked, Catriver.
