First off, you may need a different I/O Board on your 7875 Scanner, either a single, dual, or USB card... What is the model... 7875-????
First I am hoping the scanner is programmed? Either configured OCIA or RS232. Plug the cable into the terminal, and then to the scanner via the datacable... You will have to be more specific on what you are trying to accomplish.

Hmmmm.... It sounds as though your scanner is not programmed correctly. Either RS232 or IBM... Either way it sounds as though it is not accepting your communication entry. Which could be your Eeprom chip, a digital board, maybe even the dual I/O board, in most cases.
