Question about Braun M880 MultiMix Hand Mixer

Bottom Slide Cover (Part 2a in the manual)

The bottom slide (that covers the opening for the handblender attachment) popped off of my blender. I cannot get it to reattach straight, so now that blender only works on bursts or at high speed (there is no response on the slower speeds). Is there a trick to working it back in? Thanks in advance!!

See the description for the speed problem and repositioning of the slidere at this link. The slider should snap back in place easily if everything is ok. The slider also operates a switch inside the mixer. This switch is intended to only allow you to run on full power when using the hand blender. You may need to open up the mixer to check this switch is not stuck in the activated position permanently. Otherwise consider the description of the speed problem in the link.

My artisan mixer will not turn back on

Make sure it's unplugged, remove and inspect the carbon brushes one at a time under those black screws on the side. They are keyed with one corner of the square ground off so will only go in properly one way so eyes open when you take them out. If they are less than 10mm long replace them. Next would be look under the back cover for a broken wire to the black square speed control plate. Broken wires are only likely to be one of the bottom 2 on either side. Any more testing is going to require a multimeter.

Kitchenaid deluxe 5 edition stand mixer runs on speed 10 and after 30 sec stops I thought it was the speed control pannel then I order one online and change it but that work 2 times and i have the original...

In the Artisan mixers the problem can be caused by two different parts. First the speed control plate. When you remove the end cover from the mixer the first thing you see is the speed control plate. There are 3 screws on this, two at the top, one on the bottom. Try adjusting the top two screws, to adjust, turn in the control plate adjusting the screws an equal amount.
Also check to see if the control plate spring is unhooked. Remove end cover, and check control plate spring. If unhooked, attach to bottom of the control plate and squeeze the spring end.
It can also be caused by incorrect wiring, check the wiring, the last page of the service manual will be a wiring diagram for your mixer. Here is a link to the service manual. http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/mendingshed/kitchenaidservicemanual.pdf
Last, if the control plate is properly adjusted, the control plate spring is hooked correctly and the wiring is correct you will need to replace the speed control phase board. With the line cord disconnected, pull the t-bar contacts to open and insert a piece of paper between them so they cannot close. Reapply power-the mixer should just run or buzz trying to run. If it operates at full speed, the phase control is defective and needs to be replaced.

I seem to have lost the instruction manual for my mixer. I would like to use the immersion blender, but I can't figure out how to attach it to the mixer body. The shaft on the blender is too short to...

Hi
The blender does not attach to any of the two holes for the whisks.
You need to push back the sliding cover in the center, bottom part between and behind where the whiskers attach. This will uncover a third attachment possibility, where you insert the blender and twist it a quarter turn into place.

My DeLonghi DSM800 when running sometimes stop for a second and then starts up again. It also seems to speed up at times and almost sounds like it is skipping a gear or something. Any ideas.

I had the same problem and fixed it.
  1. I took it apart, unplug unit, remove the small black cover inside the stand portion, 1 screw. Underneath you will find four screws with a white plastic wire junction.
  2. Loosen two screws and remove the black and brown wires which connect to the control panel with the dial attached.
  3. Remove rear attachment cover, front top cover, and front delonghi cover.
  4. Remove top three screws where the blender attachment goes. Now remove the aluminum cover that covers the entire top.
  5. Slip belt off. Remove three screws with plastic washers that attach motor to chassis.
  6. Remove 2 torx screws that are located next to metal bar that keeps top half from swinging too far from bottom half.
  7. Now you can pull the motor out and the control panel with the dial. Remove the three slip on electrical connections on the control panel and reinstall. Carefully remove the two slip on electrical connections on the motor and reinstall.
  8. Re-assemble and test unit.
I thought I had a problem with the control panel or the motor, as it turns out the connections were the problem. Carefully removing them and reinstalling them solved the problem.

Hobart Mixer bowl won't go up

If the worm screw is turning but not lifting the bowl, the bowl lift nut is stripped.
H600 part number is 24198.
To change it, you need to undo the screws down the right side yoke slide to release the yoke. You will need to lift the yoke to reach some of them. If you have some wood place it under the yoke and over the legs to protect the paint. On top of the yoke are two blots holding the keeper plate over the nut. One is the stop screw for bowl height. Don't loose this setting. remove the slide, edge the yoke forward a bit to free the worm. Run the old nut down the worm and off the bottom. When you run the new nut on, all the excess grease and metal shavings will start to build up. Clean as you go, or better still, brush with solvent or similar to clean the worm threads . relubricate, run the nut up above the yoke, reload the yoke and attach keeper plate, reload slide.
To adjust slide, snug screw near bottom keeping slide close to yoke, run yoke to top and tighten top screw just enough to hold slide in place, lower yoke to bottom, gently tap top of slide in a 1/16" and tighten top screw. Run yoke to top of slide. It should start to bind slightly in the last 2 inches of travel, which will stop the bowl from dropping in use. Tighten remaining screws.

Kitchenaid Mixer will not lock

This sounds like an issue of beater to bowl adjustment, which can come out of alignment naturally over time and with use of the machine.

If the flat beater is striking the bottom of your bowl, this may cause the locking mechanism to loosen and may cause the mixing head to "bounce" during use.

Your Use and Care Guide will cover the "beater to bowl adjustment," which you can do at home in a few minutes with a flathead screwdriver.

Hope this helps!
