Problems using scanner part of printer..

Error message appears on screen of printer saying that its not supported, therefore not allowing the scanner to work. However, I can still use the photo cards and print.

Error 1102 or 1200

I just want to scan. I can't find ink locally and I don't need it, yet Brother tech support says to correct the problems that come up on the lcd screen. The only error is "Replace...

From past experience and current research, you can not scan with an error on the LCD screen. Therefore you would have to replace the ink before the scanner will work.

Got ink system failure code # 0xc18a0501 on HP Photosmart C7280 a-i-o and no amoun of shutting down and restarting will help. What can I do?

  1. Press and hold the "*" key.
  2. Press the "#" key and release both keys.
  3. Display should say "Enter Special Key Combo"
  4. Press and release in sequence the "1", "2" and "3" buttons. The screen will say "support"
  5. Press and release the right arrow button until the display says "System Configuration Menu".
  6. Press and release the "OK" button.
  7. Display should say "Hardware failure status". If not there already, Arrow Key over to "Hardware failure status",
  8. Press and release the "OK" button.
  9. Display should say "Hardware failure status: Clear. Press OK to clear".
  10. Press and release the "OK" Button. Message changes to "Hardware failure status Cleared. Press Cancel to continue".
  11. Press and release the "CANCEL" button as many times as necessary, so that, either the "Welcome to Photosmart Express" screen appears, or, the "Ink System Failure" screen appears.

PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO PRINT AT THIS STAGE.

  1. Using the Power Button, turn the unit OFF and unplug the power cable from back of the printer and wall outlet.
  2. Wait 30 seconds for the power to get discharged and then plug the power cable into the wall outlet first and then into the back of the printer
  3. Turn the unit on. The printer may display message "USE POWER BUTTON TO SHUTDOWN THE PRINTER" followed by "PRESS OK TO CONTINUE". Press OK. The Printer will start the "ONE TIME INK INITIALIZATION PROCESS". Allow this process to complete and do not interrupt. Once the initialization process is complete, the printer will print out a Diagnostic Page.
If it did not print out a diagnostic page:
  1. Is the error message still being displayed on the printer?
  2. Print a self test page to check the functionality of the printer.
  3. Press Setup menu on the All-in-One then scroll using the arrow key and select Print Report then select Self Test Report.

Error 0xc18a0301 - "Ink system has failed" on a Photosmart 6180

Error number 0xc18a0301 on HP printers Follow the below steps on the front panel of the All-in-One printer:
A. - Press and Hold the “Print Photos” & “Red Eye Removal” buttons. Release both buttons. Display should say “Enter Special Key Combo”
B. - Press and release in sequence “Red Eye Removal”, “Print Photos”, “Red Eye Removal”
Display says "enter special key combo"
Press and release in sequence “Red Eye Removal”, “Print Photos”, “Red Eye Removal” .

If "support COxxFN0723BR" appears with "uiaux" message, perform the below steps:
2. Press and release the right arrow button until the display says “System Configuration Menu”. (on C8100 use Touch Screen)

Is the error message still being displayed on the printer?


Print a self test page to check the functionality of the printer.

Sharp AL 2080 Copier

There is a transparent plastic knob underneath the scanner unit that holds it in place while in its box. After installing you must turn clockwise this plastic to release the scanner mechanism. otherwise a L1 Error will appear on screen.

Hp laserjet m1522nf

Copy function was not working, says "device is busy". Message appeared on the printer screen is:"scanner error 5, turn off then on". This was done several times and message still appeared. I called 866-625-1176 and was connected with HP Technical Support and after 20 - 25 minutes of diagnostics, the technician informed me that they were sending me a new printer at no charge. I assume this meant that HP is aware of the defect and has no solution other than to replace it. The printer was only 6 months old.
