Re:
This is usually down to the water heater element needing replacing (when the machine has filled up enough, it turns on the heater - and that's when the fault on the element takes the power out).
To check, unplug the machine from the electricity supply and take the back cover off. In the middle of all the clutter, you'll see the large stainless tank that encloses the drum. Somewhere near the bottom of this, you'll find an oval plate with three terminals (a live, a neutral and an earth). Double check that the machine is unplugged, then remove the live and the neutral (these are the two that go onto slightly insulated posts). Leave the earth (the one that goes straight onto the metalwork) on. If there's any risk that the wires you've taken off are going to touch anything, tape them back with insulating tape. Now plug the machine back in and see if it will run. If it goes further into the cycle without blowing the house electrics, you've proved you have a heater element problem.
Replacements are available off the net or from any local washing machine spares shop - expect to pay a little under £20.

Have you checked the fuse in the Washing Machine.?
Have you checked the in-line mains suppressor in the Washing Machine.?
Have you plugged anything else into the same plug socket as the Washing Machine is in, just to check that the socket is actually working properly.?
unplug it from the wall socket and give it a couple of minutes before plugging it back in, if problem still occurs you have a faulty unit somewhere, either lid switch, pump or board
Hello there and welcome to fixya I am sorry to hear that you are having problems i will post some information on some more parts that need to be tested ok?
Washing machine is dead, wont start
Obviously the first thing to check is that the socket is supplying
power by plugging another appliance in such as a lamp. It is less likely
to be the socket but you'd be daft not to check it out before calling
an engineer as it does occasionally turn out to be a faulty wall socket.
This is only necessary though if there are no led indicator lights lit
up on your washer as any light that's on shows that the machine is
getting a live and neutral supply from the socket.
The second thing to check is the fuse in the plug. Either put the fuse
into something else and check the appliance still works or try another
fuse that you know to be OK in the washer. Make sure you use a 13 amp
fuse and never by-pass a fuse! If both of those are OK,
then the most common cause for a washing machine that wont start is the
door interlock, particularly if the mains lights on the washing machine
has come on, but nothing works. However, the fault could also be in
wiring to the door interlock or even the door catch not activating it
properly, or the on off switch or the main control module. With some
Indesit and Hotpoint washing machines even an open circuit heater or
motor can cause the entire washing machine to stop working except the
led lights.
You need to know what you are doing to trace this type of fault so if
it isn't the wall socket or the plug you'd be better getting an engineer
to trace it. Do not work on a live washing machine. Engineers should
use a continuity test meter to trace faults with the washing machine
unplugged and never test with a live washing machine.

Flickering lights might just be caused by loose wires in the mains plug on the machine's power cable. I would suggest checking that first - for some reason the neutral wire seems more likely than the others to come loose. There might be brown / purple marks around the terminal inside the plug if this is the case. Also try replacing the mains fuse in the plug.
While you are there you might also try plugging a normal table lamp into the socket you use for the machine - if the house cabling to the socket is defective the lamp should flicker too.
If neither of these ideas is productive, the problem would appear to be within the machine, so please ask again. Good Luck D.
the padlock led indicates that bthe door is open or poss interlock fault, however since you said it now trips fuses, IF you are not electrically minded call an expert something could of become disconnected or moisture could of got into the machine and blown the module
