If your ISP is not having problems typically a router will just need a reboot to make it start working again. Simply unplug the power cord to it, wait 10-15 seconds, plug back in and try it again.

Password protect wireless access

You'll need to access the administrator web page for your router, and then set a security key (password) for wireless users.

For step-by-step instructions for setting up security on the D-Link DI-614 router, see:

DI-614 router works sometimes

hi ,
there is surely a way of doing that and the way is to open the routers page while connected to the router with the help of an ethernet cable .
but i would rather suggest to reset the router and then start again ... with this u can upload a new firmware for router as well ....
moreover u will be able to do all the settings on the router again ....

Connecting a DI-524 to a DI-604

This shouldn't really be any problem simply use a short "Uplink" ethernet cable to join the routers thru the uplink port, or any port really, and that way ya should be able to wifi and access the net, set ya router that connects to the net for DCHP and disable that setting in the Wifi router and ya should be good to go?

DI-524 wireless router as wireless switch

You need to disable the DHCP server on your "slave" wireless router ( the di-524 ). In D-link routers this might be called configuring it to be an "Access point".

When this happens, connecting to the second wireless router should cause your computer to obtain an IP address which is in the range of the first router (that is to say, it will use the first router's dhcp server).

You should be able have your laptop connect with an automatic IP address and have it work.
