After power surge panasonic hdtv projection tv model # PT-53WX42F wont come on red light flashes

Bobbie, It dose not sound like surge protector was real effective, the TV will have to come apart to diagnose what has all blown, capacitors, boards etc. Google search can help show how it is done.
Enter all your TV's info, will not power on repair.

Surge Guard 50amp - no shore power

Do you have good power that the outlet. I have seen many issues at RV parks of not having sustained power or one leg of the breaker going bad causing loss of power. If you do have good power coming into the surge protector but not out. Then go through the reset procedures for the surge protector. If it will not reset, then the surge protector has failed and will need to be replaced. If power is coming through then check the main breakers in the coach for possible failure. Breakers can trip but still look as if they are properly set. Turn them completely off then back on to reset.

Had power surge. Tv was on surge protector. Now no power will come on and just makes a buzzing sound.

Have you tried plugging it in without the surge protector? I would wager that either a) the surge protector needs to be reset/turned on and off depending on the model or b) either your TV and/or surge protector have been damaged by the power surge.

Try plugging the TV straight into the outlet and see if that helps.

Can't turn my computer on and i have a yellow blinking light on my dell dimension E510

Do you use a surge protector? If you do, try turning off the power supply to the surge protector and switch on again.
There are a number of causes for this problem, the most likely being a PSU problem or a motherboard fault/failure. To check the power from the PSU to the motherboard, you will need a multimeter to make sure enough power is going to the motherboard. Also check the motherboard closely to see if there is any signs of corrosion or blackened areas, which could be caused by overheating components. Check for leaky or burnt capacitors.

A friend living in the country bought a Ryobi RG-950 generator. She wants to run 1 of her 2 computers or a TV 1 light at night and asked my advice. I told her that running any electronic equipment off a...

It's best to run all electronics through a UPS and surge protector. Small generators like the RG-950 are really for small power tools and lighting. The Ryobi RG-950 is only rated 650 watts which really means about 450 watts (70%) for continuous use. In general, a basic desktop or a laptop should be OK. A TV up to 25 inches and a 100w lamp, should be OK. If you try doing both at the same time, expect smoke followed by lights out. A UPS and Surge Protector are a must on small generators due to their poor voltage and frequency regulation. The UPS should be a good quality one that deals with Brownout, Overvoltage, and frequency deviation. ALWAYS USE A SURGE PROTECTOR!

Have an fg5700ak runs ok but no power output what

Typical diodes are 10 amp for these. The stator and rotor both have VERY low resistance readings. The reading typically will be below that which will register MEANINGFULLY on the digital meters.

My generator had 10 amp diodes with surge protectors across them. One of the protectors shorted and generator output was zero. Mine is a 6KW diesel silent unit.

Replaced the diodes with 70 amp ones with surge protectors that have 20 times the energy absorbtion as the originals. Unfortunately this required some lathe work to make holders for the diodes and the surge protectors to ride on the rotor.

Used the light bulb trick to remagnitize it once diodes were replaced.

Opener wont open makes clicking noise

Your opener has been hit by lightning or power surge.
If it's not too old you can replace the 'back board' (the computer board on the back of the opener.) Also If the opener has safety sensors one or both of them may be burnt out too, and if it was really bad then the rpm sensor will go too. So you could be looking at paying half the cost to repair or just get a new opener. Up to you, and get a surge protector. Lift master has a good line of products and makes thier own surge protectors for thier products.
