The Lg you have actually has three boards that can cause the problem you are talking about. The control board, the y-board or the z-board. Usually most technicians will change the y-board and z board together since it is usually a combination of both that cause the problem. The control board by itself can cause the problem. The part #'s are as follows and these are straight from the LG plasma tv training manuals. 1- Control board 6871QCH053G, 2- Y board 6871QYH036D, and the Z-board is
6871QZH041B. The boards can be checked by looking at the voltages and signals but as I said some of those problems for no picture interrelate between boards. Hope this helped. Also with the back cover off those boards are clearly marked. The y board is a small board on the left and the Z board is on the right. The control board is of course in between them. They have tiny white stickers with the part # and assy# on them an also directly on the board itself. Always disconnect the power cord when looking at the inside by taking the back cover off.

you will need the MAIN PCB & can find your part number at the following web site, you will need your complete model/serial number to isolate the right board for your TV.
Suspects are main board and power supply board--either can do this. Keep in mind only boards are sold for this type of set---If LG Google the model number with "parts" as there is a place that sells all the boards by model number (not LG itself). You will see a list of the boards the set uses and prices.
Check the fuse on the Z-sustain module. The module all the way to the right (looking from the back) If blown (and before the set went out there was a loud pop) you need to change the IC on the Z-sustain part number STK 795-820 or 821 and the fuse. If you don't want to bother unsoldering and soldering back this part and you know the fuse is blown then replace the Z-sustain module. Do a google, ebay, or shopjimmy.com search with the model number for price and availibility.
