To adjust the K-5A, there is no little screw under the motor head. However, you can easily adjust it by tightening the 7/16 bolt that is accessible under the mixer base. Simply lay over the mixer (after unplugging it), use a 7/16 long head socket and extension, and tighten a 1/4 turn at a time to raise the bowl. FYI, we've had this mixer for 20 years and I've never done it before. Mine took 6 separate 1/4 turns (totaling 1 1/2) turns to move the dime slightly on each rotation. Works great now!

Tilt the mixer up, look at the joint where it connects to the stand under the "belly" of the mixer. You should see a small silver screw. Dialing it out will raise the head of the mixer, dialing it in will lower it.

The adjustment screw did work for me but I adjusted using the dough mixer instead of Flat Head mixer as specified (only-realized after reading the manual ;o).
After readjusting using the correct flat head, everything is happy again.
- manual, I don't need a stinking manual !!! ;o)

Pull the back off and there will be two screws at the top of the Speed Control Plate and a 3rd screw at the bottom. Tighten the top two screws down. [email protected]. Let me know if it works.
