Question about KitchenAid KAWS850LE Top Load Washer
My washer will fill up and drain but will not spin or agitate. In those cycles you can hear the motor run i think but therfee is no movement in the tub. i looked underneath and saw a belt but i cant seem to find the pulley. What do i do now? Thanks
Rick, for the posted model. This is a direct drive washer, no belt. As long as you are draining, I believe you have a broken motor coupler, about a 19.00 part. Check out the attachment, look at # 13. One end to the motor, the other to the trans. You will have to remove the cabinet, pump and motor to get at it. Easy job. Catriver.

The back panel is very simple to remove (10 screws) and provides wide open access to the belt. New belt costs $18 a service rep will charge you $50 plus plus $150 home service charge. Having both the Asko washer and drier for about six years, I have experienced multiple service repair bills that probably equal the value of buying new machines, so I now do the repairs myself, in fact I just removed the back panel on my washer about an hour ago to replace the washer motor (to the tune of $278). I'll stick with American made in the future or maybe that means Chinese made?

my kitchenaid washer kawe660wwh3 (15 years old) is not spinning and is making a loud noise as if trying to spin but can't. it has ***** been serviced before. the watered has drained out but all clothes are very wet. thank you for any input
I have an Asko washer that also will not spin or agitate. I thought it was because of a dime stuck in it but after reading what someone said about a broken coupler, I am not so sure. Please tell me how to best get inside it to take a look, front or back? Thanks, Anne
I just did this myself. My Coupling was broken.
Here's a video I found from this site.
