Download it I bought this program several years ago with my HP CD-Writer. Unfortunately my original disk is broken and I cant read de installation program

all dvd writers have drivers on windows...and are installed automatically when windows is installed..If it started not to recognize dvd-es ...specially the ones burned in data format with multiple movies (avi ) ..even burned on it ...but sees the original ones..or sees the cd'es ..than the issue is with its lens ..and either you need a cleaning disk to clean it up ..or it is gone ...and need to be replaced..I personally have to do with something like this sand tried to update firmware ..installed original driver from the support site ,,and all the same ..Clean the lens and see how it is behaving ..and if it does the same ..just replace it ..cause they do have limited life time..otherwise you will end up with a lot of frustrations and no results...

check that the PC can read or not read many discs
CD or DVD.
lets do a list. test many disks is best.

1: CD-DA, this is first. a store bought music disk
it will show no files, it is not files formatted
its music only, and plays does it play? music.
REAL FILES: next.
2: now take any install disk CD for windows.
a MS or HP install disk on CD is tops. (any)
can you see files now? you must.
if not XP is messed up, as ALL ARE NOW.
3: ok CDs read ok... now DVD.
4: again find a DVD install disk, w8 , w10.
or any DVD PC install disk.
and see if you can see the files using
MY COMPUTER (windows explorer)
does that work if not XP is bad or drive bad.
ok that works we graduate to BURNING.

5: get free Imgburn (google it)
use it and burn any CD-R. ok?
now burn DVD-R, burn some JPGs to test it.
if ok then its working
if not what,

if all above fails, (IDK)
then reload XP
if that fails the Drive is bad.

what I do to know any drive is bad is
load linux live off a boot USB stick.
bad now? cant read pro made disks?
or load windows. 7 PE, to usb stick boot that and test the DVD , for reading, if ok , XP IS TOASTED

I would say you need a new CD/DVD. This one appears to have given up. Check the HP website. They have the latest dirvers. I use HP printers and never use the disk provided because it will have old drivers, even if just bought.

Reinstall the program if you have a stand alon copy, or it may be on an application disk that came with your system.
