I would advise you to reset the Blueant before pairing it with your phone 1.Press and hold Volume + first then the MFB button ( the button we use to turn on/off the BlueAnt) 2. Turn off the device again 3. Turn on the device to complete the reset ( upon turning on the device, it will ask you to select a language, press MFB upon hearing your desired language ) 4. Follow instruction on the BlueAnt 5. As for the passcode , some phones don't require a passcode for the BlueAnt. 6. Accept all notification that will pop out on the phone ( don't take your eyes off on the phone )
You can use the default 4 digit passcode which is '0000",just ensure you enter the same passcode on the other bluetooth device(a phone) which you are pairing with, but if its an earpiece device, simply type in the passcode and wait for the device to pair automatically with your phone.
Your "Passcode" is setup when you "Pair" with another Bluetooth appliance.
e.g If you want to connect to your friends phone via bluetooth to send a picture you would send via bluetooth and search for bluetooth device. When you select the one you wish to connect to it will attempt to "Pair" with it. At this point a "Passcode" maybe asked for if the bluetooth device you are pairing with has one set. If it does then you need to ask the person who owns the device for the "Passcode" before your picture can be sent/recieved.
Normally if you wish to set a passcode for your device it will either be in your bluetooth settings. Possibly even in "Security" in the bluetooth settings or it may just be in your "Security" settings.
For initial pairing, you're the one to provide a passcode. So if the system asks you to enter passcode, you will need to enter a code that you will use as this is the enrollment process. Once the passcode went through, the paired devices will be connected and locked to the system unless deleted or removed manually, so make sure to use a generic passcode that you can easily remember so you won't have any problems in the future. Hope this helps!
When pairing two phones, you need to set up the connection on both phones. One will ask you to enter the password when you are creating the new connection, which you will then need to enter on the second phone to complete the connection. This ensures that only people you allow to connect (people you gave the code to) can connect to your device.
