un install bluetooth driver..and software then reinstall it..if possible get the updated copy of bluetooth ..then restart pc

No, you cannot use a blue tooth mouse with your Sony Vaio because this model does not come with the blue tooth built in.

Windows 7 and Windows Vista were built off of almost the same code. Try using the windows vista drivers anyway. If it doesn't work, you can always uninstall them.

To conserve your batteries, most of these mouse types have a "sleep mode". If it has, you need to press the scroll wheel or a side button to wake it up after being idle for a short time. Make sure your bluetooth receiver is not obscured by anything and perhaps re-pair it again to realign the frequency.

Mine was fine at first but now it does the same as yours. I suspect the rechargeable battery needs replacing but I can't find anywhere in the world that sells them separatey to the mouse :-(

The mouse and keyboard to not communicate directly with a computer, but with a small USB device plugged into the computer. Remove that device from the Dell and plug it into the Sony. But you also have to go through the resynch sequence.
