Ilooked at the specs for your computer it does not list Bluetooth compatible, but that does not mean you don't have Bluetooth. Open the Control Panel, do you see the Blurtooth Icon? Is Bluetooth listed in Device Manager? If the Mouse or you have a Bluetooth USB adapter then yes.

Can it use a bluetooth mouse direct[sony vgp-bms33 bluetooth lazer mouse]

Hi barfowler...

No, you cannot use a blue tooth mouse with your Sony Vaio because this model does not come with the blue tooth built in.

You can buy a plug in usb bluetooth to use with your mouse for your Sony Vaio like this many places besides the one that I show you here: http://us.kensington.com/html/9403.html

Windows 7 and Windows Vista were built off of almost the same code. Try using the windows vista drivers anyway. If it doesn't work, you can always uninstall them.

To conserve your batteries, most of these mouse types have a "sleep mode". If it has, you need to press the scroll wheel or a side button to wake it up after being idle for a short time. Make sure your bluetooth receiver is not obscured by anything and perhaps re-pair it again to realign the frequency.

The mouse and keyboard to not communicate directly with a computer, but with a small USB device plugged into the computer. Remove that device from the Dell and plug it into the Sony. But you also have to go through the resynch sequence.
